Solo practice is useful, but it does not always feel like a match. There is no opponent waiting for a mistake, no target score creating pressure, and nobody keeping the race organized while you concentrate on the table.
RackRival Ghosts changes that. Choose an appropriate skill level, pick an opponent, and play APA-style 9-ball against a roster of Ghosts that becomes increasingly difficult. You shoot the real balls. RackRival supplies the opponent, the race, and the scorekeeping.
Pick Your Level. Meet Your Match.
Start by selecting your player skill level and a RackRival Ghost. Each opponent represents a different challenge, from an approachable first practice match to a much tougher test for experienced players. That makes it easy to find a session that fits today's game—or to step up when you want more pressure.
The goal is not to replace drills. It is to give those drills a scoreboard and a finish line. Instead of hitting balls until the session fades out, you have a target to chase and an opponent trying to get there first.
APA-Style 9-Ball Scoring Without the Math
The practice game uses familiar APA-style 9-ball point scoring. Balls 1 through 8 are worth one point each, and the 9-ball is worth two. Your selected skill level determines the player target, so the race is built around the level you chose.
After each rack, record the normal balls you made and whether you pocketed the 9-ball. RackRival calculates the points, updates the score, tracks progress toward the target, and handles the Ghost's side of the match. You keep your attention on patterns, position, and the next break instead of adding totals between racks.
Practice With a Little Pressure
A Ghost gives solo practice consequences. A dry rack matters. A strong run creates separation. A missed opportunity gives the opponent room to answer. As the difficulty increases, the Ghost becomes harder to outrun, making the same table and the same scoring system feel like a different challenge.
The live practice screen keeps the player score, Ghost score, target, rack progress, and match state together. You always know where the race stands and what the next rack means.
Build a Practice Record
Completed practice sessions are saved to RackRival, including the result and key scoring totals from the match. RackRival can track your wins and the strongest Ghost you have defeated, giving solo practice a result you can look back on instead of a score that disappears when the balls are racked again.
Use that record however you like: repeat the same matchup, move to a tougher opponent, or return to a level that exposes the part of your game you want to sharpen.
